The Rise Of AI Cyber Threats
March 30, 2023 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

The (ISC)2 Chapter Gauteng is excited to announce its next chapter event, featuring a trending topic where Sean Wainer, founder of Talos Africa will discuss this challenge and potential solutions to this growing threat in the cybersecurity space.
Talos Africa represents global, leading-edge, next-generation cybersecurity technologies in Africa. South Africa is the second most breached region in the world, with Africa being the most breached continent. Further, the cybersecurity threat landscape is constantly growing and increasing in sophistication. To exacerbate the problem, we have a global skill shortage in the arena. Talos’ vision is to alleviate this through the use of next-generation global cybersecurity technology. Moving your security teams from being reactive to being proactive is the focus.
TOPIC
The Rise Of AI Cyber Threats
Threat actors are increasingly using ChatGPT, a language model trained to generate human-like text, to create sophisticated and convincing malware that can evade detection. These malicious actors use GPT to automate the creation of phishing emails, social engineering messages, and other forms of malware. However, there are several ways to overcome this threat. One approach is to train machine learning models to distinguish between genuine and malicious content generated by GPT. Additionally, organizations can implement security measures such as multi-factor authentication, network segmentation, and regular software updates to reduce the likelihood of successful attacks. Ongoing education and awareness efforts can also help individuals recognize and avoid phishing attempts.
This virtual event qualifies for 1 CPE credit.
